Truly a short month! Where did the last 4 weeks go? We were certainly busy. We made a long weekend trip to Juneau. We enjoyed a 4 hour ferry ride, 3 (long) nights in a hotel and lots of shopping and restaurants. Our selections here in Sitka are pretty limited, so the trip was a lot of fun. We hit Wal-Mart and Costco (like Sam’s Club) and ate some good food. Our hotel had a pool and we had fun swimming and just generally relaxing. When we got back it was Arren’s birthday and we celebrated that together. At his one year check-up we discussed his lack of solid food in favor of nursing and after a blood draw found he was anemic. This adds a few more prescriptions to his daily regime, but he’s working through it We found ourselves back at the doctor the same week for a respiratory infection; requiring another blood draw and chest x-rays. Poor guy had it rough! Turns out he probably had RSV, it happens to be running rampant in Sitka right now. Of course, he was getting his 1 year molars and had an oral virus at the same time. It took a few weeks to shake, but he’s better now. Reed had the same cough, but it was easier to deal with. He’s non-stop these days and nothing drags him down for a moment. He asks to swim and go to school everyday. He does have a pretty busy schedule, but it’s fun to see him enjoying so many activities.
